Ed Watson is passionate about places and partnership and their power to transform cities. He spent most of his career in London local government and in the last decade has played a pivotal role in several high profile projects that have seen the transformation of central London’s landscape. This includes a highly successful partnership on behalf of Camden Council with Argent at Kings Cross – a relationship that is widely seen as an exemplar of long term regeneration and placemaking.
Watson also headed-up Camden’s own property and development activity, under the Community Investment Programme banner, and established the Euston Strategic Board, generating the principles for wider regeneration of Euston linked to the arrival of HS2. At Westminster City Council, he established a sustainable place-based approach to managing change and development and headed-up the high profile West End Partnership.
In April 2018, Ed set up Ed Watson & Associates, where his clients include Arup. He also does pro-bono work – most recently for the Diocese of Chelmsford on urban renewal.
